has anybody been able to use Prophet.net java
driven stock charts with Mac OSX 10.5.n , n=0 to 2 ?

Apple thinks its funny that I spent $5,000 on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.5.2 expressly and only
to use for Prophet.net AND NOW IT WON'T WORK.

REALLY PISSED ! my undying faith in
Apple is beginning to die.

I use Mono on the Mac every day and find it quite usable for everything except GUI applications. I'm hoping that Silverlight solves this problem and leaves me with "GUI" apps that run on all three major platforms (Mac, Windows and Linux).

" Why not instead take the opportunity to embrace something already supported on Mac like Mono (or maybe Python) ?"

Because it is a pain to write native GUI applications with Mono on Mac OS X. And, let's face it, the Mono project does not really embrace OS X and it does not feel like most of the Mono developers like the Mac at all.

It is great that there always is a Mono installer for OS X, but when will there be versions of System.Windows.Forms and Gtk#/Gtk+ that use a Cocoa backend? And when will MonoDevelop be easy to install on a Mac and also feel and look native?

Yes, Apple does not seem to love Java, but the Mono Project also does not seem to love the Mac. So why should Mac developers embrace either of the two?

Personally, I really don't like Objective-C but I'd love to use Mono C# as my one and only language on the Mac. It's just not doable.
